Come spend a couple hours learning about and practicing mindful meditation. We will explore the scientific, emotional and physical benefits of meditation and you will be guided in a few meditation practices. Mindfulness meditation has changed lives for the better and I look forward to sharing the practices and teachings with you!
Carrie Helgeson, LCSW has been practicing meditation for 22 years, She began studying in the Zen tradition in St. Paul, Minnesota and currently practices Vipassana meditation in the Theravada tradition. Carrie is also a licensed clinical social worker and has a particular interest in the use of mindfulness meditation in working with depression, anxiety, relationships and trauma. Carrie is currently in a two year program with teachers Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach to become a certified mindfulness meditation teacher. Carrie's greatest desire is to offer a safe and warm space for others to explore mindfulness meditation.
