Recently we had the young rising star of psychics, Rebecca Rosen, at Mystic Journey Bookstore for a discussion and signing of her National Bestseller, Spirited.
I may work in a spiritual bookstore but even I have been skeptical of what lays beyond the naked eye. I want to believe but until I see proof I find it hard to have faith.
Rebecca’s story was that of a typical twenty-something college student who was going through the day to day struggles of college life and dealing with a dysfunctional family. Until one day it all changed.
The night she came to Mystic Journey Bookstore, she stood in front of a crowded room and looked like a “normal” thirty year old mother of two boys who happened to commune with the dead.
Audience member 1: Yes, my mother.
RR: You have her ring.
Audience member 1: (holds up her hand with the ring, shaking) I always wear it
RR: She’s teasing you about killing plants.
Audience member 1: She was a horticulturalist but I end up killing plants so now I don’t keep any in my house.
RR: You lost a child in the womb. A boy.
Audience Member 1 (hesitates, looking stunned): Yes.
RR: He is with your mother. Oh, does someone know someone by the name of Star.
Audience Member 2 (shaking): I had a Grandma Star.
RR: She says she has been bursting your lights or messing with your lights.
Audience Member 2: (crying) Yes, for the past year my lights have been blowing out.
Audience Member 2 (her face crumbling): Thank you.
RR: Does someone know a man who died of an overdose but could have been perceived as a suicide.
Audience Member 3: Yes. My son ODed but it was a suicide.
RR: He is free and happy now. He loves music and says listen for him through music.
Audience Member 3: He was a musician.
And Rebecca went on and on always spot on when a spirit communicated through her. I watched in amazement since I intimately knew Audience Members 1, 2, & 3 and knew their stories and could verify how accurate Rebecca was with all of them. And there were no frills or hocus pocus, she just turned on a switch and had a direct line in. She sat at the edge of the table as if she were a nurse giving caring advice to a patient.
Now that I was a believer (and I don’t say that lightly!) I was hungry for more. I picked up her book, Spirited, and began devouring it the next day and it did not disappoint. It’s just as laid-back and conversational as she is and does not just explain what she has learned from interacting with the spirits that have moved on but it is also a how-to book which gives you the tools to open up your own psyche and live a life guided by those from beyond.
